General Facts:
-
Hidden mobs do
not show up on where.
-
Anyone can use the
hunt command. However, the information provided will likely be
false if you do not have the skill practiced.
Campaigning Facts:
-
First mort players
will always get area name campaigns. Remorts and tiers will have
a chance of getting room name campaigns.
-
You cannot door
or use any other form of teleportation to an area if you still
have to kill a campaign mob in that area.
-
You cannot hunt
campaign mobs. The message, “You seem unable to hunt that
target for some reason.” will be displayed instead.
Campaigning 101:
Usually, the hardest
part of campaigning is getting a room name campaign and figuring
out what area your mob is in. Here are a few tips that might help
you along the way.
-
You have a room
name campaign and you have no idea what area it could possibly
be in. There are a couple of things you can try to find it.
-
First, search
through the list of areas 5-15 levels above you and visit each
one. To visit, you can either door or gate to that area. If
you can’t go there, then voila, you’ve found an
area that has one of your campaign mobs.
-
Another method,
if you can’t door or gate, is to run to each area and
then use the where and hunt commands. Hunt and where will let
you see if your mob exists in that area. However, be aware that
some mobs cannot be hunted and/or do not show up on where.
-
Another problem
that often occurs in campaigns is that your mob is an area filled
with aggies. Try using sneak, invis, and gray aura to get past
them. Sometimes mobs won’t be able to see invis or you’ll
be able to sneak past them. Gray aura will hide your alignment
from mobs that attack based on alignment. If those don’t
work, remember, flee and wimpy are your friends!
-
Let’s say
you know what area your mob is in but still can’t find it.
Try using the hunt and where commands to find the name of the
room your mob is in. First, hunt 1.mob, hunt 2.mob, etc. until
you get the message, “You seem unable to hunt that target
for some reason.” That is your campaign mob! Then use where
x.mob to find the room name. With this information and the tips
from Questing 101, you’ll be able to find your mob!
-
Ack! You’ve
killed the mob that is listed in campaign info, but it still says
you need to kill it. Well, you’ve just found a mob named
exactly like yours but has a different vnum from the mob on your
campaign list. The easiest way to find your campaign mob is to
use hunt and where to find what room your mob is in, go to that
room, and then kill it. ^.^
